Kilbeggan racecourse is located close to the town of Kilbeggan and proves to be a popular tourist venue in County Westmeath. Situated in the heart of Ireland and regarded as the soul of racing, this notable summer track stages the valuable AXA Farm Insurance Midlands National Handicap Chase which is a recognised trial for the Galway Plate and other major festival races.
It is a tight right-handed track and the runners are nearly always on a turn and uphill, presenting quite a challenge for the jockeys who ride there. The vast majority of race meetings are held in the evening time which only adds to the attraction of the course.
Kilbeggan also hosts a sustainable style ladies competition, a modern concept where ladies are given a chance to re-wear, upcycle or create outfits that are centred around the topic of ethical fashion.
The racecourse caters for all hospitality, facilities for gourmet meals and special discounted packages for larger groups. Free parking a short distance from the track allows for easy accessibility for everyone.
