Limerick's four-day Christmas Festival takes place from 26th - 29th December 2024, and promises plenty of glamour, festivities, music, entertainment and of course top-class Jumps Racing. It's the perfect place for some post-Christmas fun & socialising!

Highlights on the track include the Doran's Pride Grade 2 Novice Hurdle on Day 1 (26th Dec),  the Dawn Run Grade 2 Novice Steeplechase on Day 2 (27th Dec), and the Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Steeplechase & Listed Handicap Steeplechase on Day 3 (28th Dec). 

The final day of the Festival (29th Dec) is Family Fun Day where there will be children's amusements, entertainers and much more!

Entertainment: 2023 saw Limerick's Christmas Festival host memorable acts such as DJ's Richard Lowe and Joe Scanlon, Tiny Giants , The busker Paul Fahy and Traffic band throughout the four days. Stay tuned to our website, Instagram, Facebook and for this year's lineup.

Day One

St. Stephen's Day racing is a tradition in the mid-west so make sure you join us for a feast of National Hunt racing. Last year the St. Stephen's day meeting attracted over seven thousand attendees. The feature race of the day is the Grade 2 Doran's Novice Hurdle, won by dual Cheltenham Festival winners Faugheen and Penhill in the past and last year won by Loughlynn.

Day Two

Amidst the great entertainment, food and beverage choices, the second day of the Limerick Christmas Festival features the Grade 2 Dawn Run Novice Steeplechase where the WP Mullins team will be aiming to make it four in a row in the race. Past winners include Cheltenham festival winners Concertista and Allegorie De Vassy so get down to Limerick Racecourse to see talented horses like these line up against each other.

Day Three

Day three of Limerick Christmas Festival is Grade One day. The Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Steeplechase ran over 2 miles and 3 furlongs is the feature race of the day and is sure to be a thriller. Other than the great racing, the Limerick Christmas Festival is a great way for the whole family to get out of the house after the Christmas festivities with a wide variety of food and entertainment to suit all tastes.

Day Four

Getting to the Festival couldn't be easier with a FREE bus service operating from Limerick City.
