Saxon Warrior
Winner of the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy on his final start of a two-year-old at Doncaster in October 2017, Saxon Warrior returned to Newmarket the following May to land the QIPCO 2,000 Guineas on his seasonal reappearance.
He wasn't to win again but will be remembered for a number of great tussles with Roaring Lion throughout the summer.
He was retired after just losing out to his great rival in the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown in September 2018 after which it was discovered that he had suffered a tendon injury.
